Artelium
Artelium, our sister estate in Sussex in the United Kingdom, produces premium English sparkling wines. At Rickety Bridge, we’re proud to offer three of their sparkling wines, bringing a taste of the South Downs to our Franschhoek estate.
Artelium is Rickety Bridge’s sister English wine estate. Located in the Sussex countryside, Artelium champions human creativity, skill and endeavour, making quality sparkling and still vintage wines of character.
Artelium has two vineyards, one on Chalk in Madehurst, West Sussex and on clay in Streat, East Sussex. Both grow Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Meunier and Pinot Gris alongside a new generation of sustainable varietals, as part of Artelium’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
The winemaking philosophy at Artelium is led by Mark Collins and focuses on quality and character, making award-winning, expressive, considered wines.
The Artefact collection is the epitome of Artelium: a unique series of small batch, artisan wines. A range made for collectors, these are one-offs, whether based on first harvests, innovative wine making techniques, or creative blends. To reflect this uniqueness, each Artefact wine is adorned with a new commissioned artwork from a contemporary artist that reflects its individual qualities. The artwork becomes part of Artelium’s permanent collection, remaining as a memory – an artefact – of the wine long after it has gone.

Artelium’s passionate winemaking team craft exceptional English wines from grapes grown across the South Downs.

Solomon “Solly” Monyamane is head winemaker at Artelium Wine Estate in East Sussex, crafting premium English still and sparkling wines, including the flagship Artefact range, alongside consultant Owen Elias.
