Artelium
Founded by Julie Bretland and Mark Collins, but now partly owned by the Crosbie Family through Crosbie Family Wines, a growing portfolio of exceptional wine estates, renowned for incredible wines and outstanding hospitality, which currently includes Rickety Bridge and Artelium Estate.
Artelium crafts award-winning English sparkling and still wines in the Sussex countryside. The name blends ‘art’ and ‘ium’ (Latin for ‘a place to congregate’) – a philosophy of bringing people together through wine, art and nature.
With two vineyards on chalk and clay, Artelium grows Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Meunier and Pinot Gris alongside sustainable new varietals. The winemaking is led by four-time UKVA Winemaker of the Year Owen Elias and South African Solly Monyamane, who splits his time between Sussex and Rickety Bridge.
Their cold-climate precision meets warm-climate intuition in every bottle – expressive, vintage-specific wines that celebrate quality, creativity and innovation.

Artelium’s passionate winemaking team craft exceptional English wines from grapes grown across the South Downs.

Solomon “Solly” Monyamane is head winemaker at Artelium Wine Estate in East Sussex, crafting premium English still and sparkling wines, including the flagship Artefact range, alongside consultant Owen Elias.
