Regna Loca

The name "Regna Loca" means "local kingdoms".
The Regna Loca stable of wines form a series of premium expressions that match a particular region to its most celebrated cultivar.

Regna Loca

The name “Regna Loca” refers to the ancient local kingdoms that once thrived in the regions where these wines are produced. It pays homage to the unique microclimates found in various parts of South Africa, which have long been home to thriving winemaking traditions. These regions, like kingdoms, each have their own distinct identity, producing wines that reflect their unique environmental and historical influences.

The use of Latin in the name also ties back to the Crosbie family’s British heritage, establishing a deep connection between the family’s history and South Africa’s winemaking traditions.

The Regna Loca Label focuses on producing wines that embody the true expression of each region’s microclimate and terroir. The series is characterized by wines that are refined, yet powerful, capturing the best qualities of each specific vineyard. Regna Loca wines showcase the regional sovereignty of each kingdom, where the soil, climate, and culture all contribute to producing wines of exceptional quality.

The Regna Loca Label includes premium wines from some of South Africa’s most celebrated wine-growing regions. The wines represent the most potent cultivars that thrive in each region, produced with an emphasis on capturing the joy and majesty of each unique microclimate.

Edition 4 - The Fireside Selection

Winter calls for wines worth warming your hands around, and this box delivers.

Edition 4 brings together two ranges that, side by side, tell a compelling story about what South African wine can be. Foundation Stone anchors the box with three of its most expressive bottles: the Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Pinotage. Wines built for the table, for conversation, for exactly this kind of evening.

Then there's Regna Loca. Our newest range, meaning "local kingdoms", has been turning heads since its launch, and Edition 4 gives it room to shine. Two single vineyard wines, a Semillon and a Cabernet Sauvignon, each drawn from a site chosen for its character rather than its credentials. Restrained, curious, and shaped by soil and place in a way that rewards attention.

And to close the box on a high note: the Rickety Bridge Noble Late Harvest. Rich, golden, and just sweet enough to make the moment feel like a celebration.

Six wines. A fireside worth lingering beside.
